NewsON
OVERVIEW

NewsON is a leading local news streaming platform in the U.S., connecting over 285 stations to deliver live and on-demand broadcasts across CTV, mobile, and web. As one of my first projects at Triple, I contributed to the UI design of the NewsON CTV app and helped establish design guidelines to create a cohesive user experience across all devices. Currently, I provide quarterly UX recommendations for NewsON, based on data analysis, to continuously improve the user experience and ensure a consistent brand presence across the website, app, and CTV platform.

About the project

With NewsON, my initial role focused on UI design for the mobile app, CTV app, ensuring the platform’s interface was intuitive and visually engaging for users accessing local news on their TVs. Working alongside other designers, I developed guidelines to standardize the design approach, creating a seamless and consistent experience across various devices, from mobile to CTV. This approach ensures that users can easily navigate NewsON’s offerings, regardless of the platform they choose.

Goal

The goal was to provide a clear, accessible UI that supports NewsON’s mission of delivering reliable, local news with ease. By setting design standards for the CTV app, I aimed to align the visual and functional aspects of NewsON’s digital presence across multiple platforms. Currently, I generate quarterly UX recommendations for NewsON, using data analysis to identify opportunities for improvement. These insights support NewsON in refining the user experience for the website, mobile app, and CTV app, helping to create a unified and user-friendly brand experience.

Outcome

The ongoing UX enhancements have contributed to a more cohesive and engaging experience for NewsON users, whether they’re accessing the platform on a mobile device, website, or CTV. By applying a data-driven approach to UX recommendations, I help NewsON stay responsive to user needs, optimize its design, and reinforce its brand consistency across channels. This project demonstrates the importance of continuous improvement in UX, supported by data insights, to meet user expectations and foster loyalty in a fast-evolving digital landscape.
